Russian restaurateur Michael Gokhner is set to open a second location of his upscale Italian restaurant, Bocconcino, following the success of the Mayfair flagship. The new restaurant will be situated on Great Marlborough Street in London’s vibrant Soho neighborhood and will specialize in offering authentic Italian cuisine.

Spanning 471 square feet, the venue will have a seating capacity for 146 diners spread across two floors. The upper floor will feature an open-plan dining area accommodating 120 guests, while the lower level will house a stylish bar with seating for 26 patrons. Designed by CO:DE Studios, the restaurant will showcase an open kitchen with counter seating on the upper floor, creating a captivating dining experience. Additionally, each floor will have a dedicated space for live entertainment, including DJs.

Heading the kitchen will be newly appointed head chef Simone Serafini, who previously worked at acclaimed establishments such as Cecconi’s and 5 Hertford Street. Serafini’s menu will reflect the culinary offerings of the original Mayfair location, featuring an expanded selection of aperitivo dishes and small plates, alongside Bocconcino favorites like the tagliatelle with black truffle and pizza diavola.

The wine list will exclusively feature Italian wines, including bottles from well-known brands and offerings from small, artisanal producers. Bocconcino’s General Manager, Andrea Caglioti, expresses confidence that the new restaurant will be a welcome addition to Soho, boasting a vibrant atmosphere, an accessible yet elevated Italian menu, exceptional cocktails, and a speakeasy-style bar.

Gokhner initially launched Bocconcino Pizzeria in Moscow back in 2006, drawing inspiration from the pizza and Italian cuisine he enjoyed in Forte dei Marmi, a charming seaside town in Northern Tuscany. With the forthcoming opening in Soho and plans for a third location next year, Bocconcino continues to make its mark on the London dining scene, offering patrons a refined Italian dining experience.
