Who is Thomas Bühner?

The chef who led La Vie to three Michelin stars, Thomas Bühner defines himself not only as a chef but also as a consultant, idea generator, and trainer. With creativity, international haute cuisine experience, and a strong commitment to education, he has established himself as a unique voice in the world of gastronomy  a true visionary who “transforms flavors into learning.”

From 2006 to 2018, Bühner served as Executive Chef and General Manager of La Vie in Osnabrück, achieving three Michelin stars in 2012. Before that, at La Table in Dortmund, he earned two Michelin stars as head chef. Today, Bühner continues his global journey with projects like Taste by Thomas Bühner (Istanbul) and La Vie by Thomas Bühner (Taiwan).

His culinary philosophy revolves around seasonality, premium quality ingredients, sustainability, and guest satisfaction. In Istanbul, through Taste by Thomas Bühner, he collaborates with Executive Chef Tolgar Mireli, merging signature dishes with the finest Turkish products.
