Who is Alfredo Russo?
From the Royal Palace of Venaria to the world’s leading hotels, Alfredo Russo has turned Italian cuisine into a global language of style and meaning. Alfredo Russo, born in Turin in 1968, is a Michelin-starred chef and one of the most distinctive voices of contemporary Italian cuisine. At just 22, together with his wife Stefania, he opened Dolce Stil Novo. Today the restaurant is located inside the UNESCO World Heritage Reggia di Venaria, near Turin, and has proudly held its Michelin star for 31 consecutive years a rare symbol of consistency and excellence.
Recognized in 2004 as Best Young Italian Chef by the Espresso Guide, Russo has built his style on the principle “Subtract the obvious, add the meaningful”: dishes that are pure, essential, deeply rooted in Italian tradition yet open to constant innovation. Alongside his flagship restaurant, Russo is a strategic consultant for luxury hotels worldwide, creating dining concepts that combine profitability, guest experience, and contemporary lifestyle. His projects span Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, from London (The Franklin) to Bodrum (ORO by Alfredo Russo), with collaborations and events in Thailand, Japan, Dubai, Mexico, Slovenia, and Qatar.
In 2024 he was awarded the title of Cavaliere al Merito della Repubblica Italiana by President Sergio Mattarella, recognizing his outstanding contribution to gastronomy and culture. Today, Russo continues to inspire new generations of chefs while shaping the future of hospitality through restaurants, international congresses, and innovative dining formats.
