The award ceremony for the World’s 50 Best Restaurants will be held face to face in Antwerp, Belgium on Tuesday, October 5th. In addition, to live events such as gala and 5o Best Talks, there will be several special awards announced between June and September this year, including an entirely new initiative called ‘Champions of Change,’ according to the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. The award ceremony can also be followed on the internet.

William Drew, director of content for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, says: “We are very excited about hosting this important gastronomic event in Flanders in early October and remain optimistic that the ongoing vaccine rollout will enable as many people as possible to join us safely in Antwerp. The event programme will allow the global gastronomic community to reconnect in person, share experiences, celebrate resilience and brilliance, and ultimately help boost the restaurant sector when it needs our support most.”

This year, to counter international travel restrictions last year, the 2021 list will be created from a combination of the (never published) votes cast in January 2020 and a voting update in March.
