The highly anticipated Bocuse d’Or Grand Finale has been postponed from January 2021 to June 1-2, 2021, due to the COVID-19 crisis that shook the world.

Known as the ‘Culinary Olympics’, the international competition, which was begun by the late Paul Bocuse back in 1987, is considered one of the most prestigious chef competitions in the world. The competition, which normally takes place every two years at the Sirha Fair in Lyon, France, has been postponed to June 1-2, 2021 under current global restrictions, as the fair attracts approximately 200,000 visitors. Bocuse d’Or Europe final, which was postponed in May, will take place in Tallinn, Estonia as planned on 15 and 16 October 2020, and a total of 17 teams will compete. The UK and Belgium teams have decided to withdraw ahead of the competition.

The Bocuse d’Or culinary competition includes 24 chefs from 24 different countries, competing around two different themes over two days. Last year’s winner was Denmark with a team lead by chef Kenneth Toft-Hansen.
