The semi-final excitement of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef competition, organized for the fourth time this year in order to give young chefs an international experience, ended. The S.Pellegrino Young Chef final will be held at the Alma Academy in Italy on May 8-9.

Africa and Middle East Region Final, where Neolokal’s chef Maksut Aşkar is a jury member, was held in Cape Town recently. Paul Thinus Prinsloo, Chef de Partie, won the competition at The Restaurant in Cape Town. The young chef Prinsloo deserved the first place with Bouillabaisse 2.0, a signature dish that brings contemporary interpretation to France’s traditional Provencal fish stew.

In addition to the S.Pellegrino Young Chef award, three more awards:

Acqua Panna Awards: Elissa Abou Tasse, “Adam’s Garden”

Fine Dining Lovers Food for Thought Award: Marcus Gericke, “Remembrance”

S.Pellegrino Social Responsibility Award: Callan Austin, “The Ghost Net”
