The 39th selections of the Michelin Guide Main Cities of Europe were announced, and the cities of Kraców and Ljubljana took their first stars.

The guide, which covers 39 cities in 23 countries and offers more than 1,850 restaurants, includes 4 new 3-star restaurants this year, 13 new 2-star restaurants and 52 new 1-star restaurants. Bottiglieria 1881 in the picturesque Polish city of Kraców, was awarded the city’s first Michelin star. In Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, restaurant Atelje, under chef Jorg Zupan, also received its first star. Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides said: “After the challenges of the last three months, I am delighted that the delayed launch of the Michelin Guide Main Cities of Europe 2020 coincides with the gradual reopening of restaurants across Europe following a relaxation of restrictions implemented during the pandemic.”
