Amelia Island, part of the Sea Islands chain stretching from South Carolina to Florida, makes it an attractive travel destination due to its close location to the border of both states. On the island, where transportation is also very easy, Turkish chef Okan Kızılbayır’s wonderful tastes provide pleasant moments to his guests at the Salt Restaurant in The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island.

Having previously worked at Le Bernardin, a three-Michelin-starred seafood restaurant led by Eric Ripert in Manhattan, and at Blue by Eric Ripert at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, Kızılbayır works wonders for fish dishes at Salt. Avocados add their twist to many dishes, from corn and lime ceviche to Atlantic halibut.
