Following seven years at the Gilpin nearby as head chef, Carl Wild was appointed head chef at the Samling.

Carl has almost twenty years of experience cooking in renowned restaurants across the UK and Europe such as Michelin-starred Restaurant Gaing, Niechel, and Gilpin. Also, he has spent eight years in Barcelona, working for the Ritz Carlton Hotel Group.

Wild will work to create a seasonal menu inspired by The Samling’s dramatic Lake District location and will also keep on sustainability, working with handpicked suppliers and producers across the county and beyond.
