Although a small part of the world’s population prefers vegan and vegetarian diets, alternative nutrition is increasing its popularity day by day in the world of quality food. Sweet Inn’s new research has revealed which cities and countries have the most vegan and vegetarian-friendly Michelin-starred restaurants. According to the research, London is in the first place.

The first vegan restaurant to receive a Michelin star was ONA, located in the worn of Ares, near Bordeaux. Chef Claire Vallée and her team received the honour for ONA in January 2021. Since then a further 14 vegan and vegetarian restaurants have received Michelin stars. Although some of them do not completely stop meat consumption, Michelin-starred restaurants that include vegan and vegetarian-friendly flavors on their menus also support this trend. According to the research, London stands out as the city that supports this diet the most with 31 restaurants. The list, which includes restaurants such as Ikoyi, La Chapelle, Pollen Street Social, Texture, Trinity, Yauatcha, and Social Eating House, makes London more vegan and vegetarian-friendly than any other city in the world.

 

The UK is not at the top of the list as a country, although London ranks first as the city. There are 73 meatless accommodation restaurants across the country. France, on the other hand, is the leader in the country with 145 restaurants. Here are the other cities and countries on the list:
