This June, Michelin-starred Chef Luigi Stinga — of Talea by Antonio Guida at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi — is set to bring his exceptional Italian creations to Vetro, The Oberoi, Mumbai. In keeping with the unique strategic alliance between Oberoi Hotels & Resorts and Mandarin Oriental, Vetro–a contemporary Italian restaurant at The Oberoi, Mumbai–has geared up to welcome Michelin-starred Chef Luigi Stinga from Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi for a special culinary pop-up from June 16 to June 18, 2023. This limited edition special menu will feature exquisitely crafted delicacies that draw inspiration from Chef Stinga’s Italian heritage and upbringing.

Speaking about the menu at this culinary collaboration, Chef Luigi Stinga, Chef de Cuisine at Talea by Antonio Guida, Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi says, “Inspired by Cucina di Famiglia or family-style cuisine, I look forward to presenting a simple yet enriched menu with recipes like L’uovo Tartufo (slow-cooked egg with black truffle), Parmigiana di Melanzane (egglant, tomato sauce, scamorza fondue, and basil), Sedano Rapa (celeriac in three consistenices, vegan jus, and black truffle), and of course, Italy’s favourite Tiramisu–also known as Tuscan Trifle, a dessert orginating from Treviso, Italy.” The menu on offer will also feature classics such as Bruschetta Mediterranea, Seabass Tartare, Black Cod, and Panna Cotta, to name a few.

Notably, Talea by Antonio Guida also celebrates similar delights. This restuarant at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi serves diners traditional Italian dishes and family-style cooking. Each dish offers a blend of flavours that bring together diverse culinary experiences and Chef Stuigi’s natural talent. The India-based edition promises to be no different. He says, “Brimming with emotion, culture and conviviality, I hope this innovative Cucina di Famiglia menu makes for an outstanding culinary experience at Vetro at The Oberoi, Mumbai. I’ve always been in pursuit of ingenious new flavours and cooking techniques to create classic Italian dishes, and I look forward to showcasing the very best of these here in India’s city of dreams.”

A native of Nerano, a coastal town on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, Chef Stinga started his career at Ristorante Don Alfonso 1890, one of the first restaurants to be awarded two Michelin stars in southern Italy. His culinary prowess then took him to Milan, where he joined Chef Antonio Guida for the opening of Seta in 2015. During this stint, Chef Stinga gained recognition for his attention to detail, culinary flair, generous approach and natural confidence. And thus, his signature cucina di famiglia style of cooking was born and loved. Today, at Talea by Antonio Guida, the native Italian is praised for bringing a sophisticated twist that combines traditional flavours with contempoary influences to create a blend of diverse culinary experiences.
