Dubai’s 21grams has launched an initiative that will see guests help form the Balkan bistro’s new menu. From July 3, there will be a special dish from head chef Milan Jurkovic on the menu each week, which guests can ratings and give feedback through review cards available in the restaurant, or face-to-face with the restaurant team. At the end of the summer, one dish will be chosen to be on the new season’s menu as the Community Special.

Founder Stasha Toncev said: “We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support and enthusiasm from our wonderful community.

“This summer, we wanted to express our gratitude by inviting everyone to be a part of the culinary journey at 21grams. It’s an exciting opportunity for our patrons to taste our latest creations, share their feedback, and have a say in shaping our upcoming menu.”

Head chef Jurkovic added: “We believe that our community knows best when it comes to their culinary preferences.

“By actively engaging with our guests, we aim to create a menu that truly resonates with their tastes and desires. We can’t wait to see which dish emerges as the winner and becomes a part of our new season’s menu.”

A celebration of Balkan cuisine

21grams takes pride in being a homegrown concept offering food from the Balkan Peninsula.

First opened in 2018 on Jumeirah Beach Road, 21grams relocated to the nearby Meyan Mall in January 2022 and also has a concession at Time Out Market Dubai and a grab-and-go presence in Alserkal Avenue.

The flagship venue scored 12/20 in the Gault&Millau UAE Guide 2023, with investigators describing it as ” a shining example of the special magic of home-grown restaurants, and a culinary adventure that is well worth embarking upon”.
