Italian-Mediterranean restaurant Fi’lia has launched a new menu from recently appointed head chef Célia Stoecklin. Twenty-five-year-old Stoecklin joined from Jumeirah in February of this year, filling the shoes of Sara Aqel. At the time she said she intended to share her ‘stories and adventures’ with Fi’lia’s diners and introduce them to a new chapter for the restaurant. She aims to focus on the simple, refined ingredients and flavours, while championing the restaurant’s female-led philosophy.

Main courses include lamb shank osso bucco with creamy polenta or beef tenderloin with masala sauce. There’s also oven-baked sea bass and veal Milanese with poached egg, shave truffle and chives. The Cacciucco stars clams, mussels, sea bass, prawns in a rich bisque served with sourdough bread.

Pizzas include a classic margherita with buffalo mozzarella, plus the truffle with truffle cream and porcini mushroom, or the verde – with courgette, almond cream and caramelised onions. The more adventurous Jerusalem artichoke has mozzarella, spinach, sunchoke pureé and gorgonzola.

For dessert, alongside the popular Fi’liamisu, there’s a Tuscan cheesecake or a lemon yoghurt mousse.

Fi’lia restaurant opened in 2021 as the first fully female-led Mediterranean-Italian restaurant in the city.

The Fi’lia concept started out in the Bahamas, while there are also two branches in Miami. The opening in Dubai in 2021 was the first for the region.
