The Chef del Mar invites his colleagues, more than 80 chefs from all over Spain and 15 other countries, to Despesques 2022, a gathering to listen and to reflect about how to develop an environmental revolution.
“Back to the origins, to reach a better future” will be one of the essential points of Despesques 2022, the third edition of the event organized by Ángel León with the assistance of Spanish and international colleagues, which will take place from September 11th to 14th, in the heart of Los Alcornocales Natural Park, in Cádiz.
The meeting will include different gastronomic, philosophical and artistic interpretations with this objective in mind, aligned with Ángel León’s obsession to continue defending the biological and socio-ecosystemic importance of Andalusia, as well as the conservation and enhancement of the natural heritage of the province of Cádiz.
The list of attendees and other details of Despesques 2022 will be announced at a press conference to be held on September 7th at 11:00 a.m. (local time), at Aponiente Restaurant in El Puerto de Santa María.
NATURE will be even more of a protagonist in this new post-pandemic edition. If in 2018 the chosen setting was the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park, and in 2019 the La Breña y Marismas del Barbate Natural Park, this time the meeting will be inland, in the heart of the Alcornocales Natural Park, in the Wakana area, a magical enclave halfway between La Janda and the Sierra de Cádiz.
About Despesques
It is an international discussion forum organized biennially by Spanish chef Ángel León to promote a gastronomic revolution for the benefit of nature. It aims to be a parenthesis in the frenetic pace of daily life and to listen to this role, to discuss and be aware of the role of gastronomy in the region, the way we relate to the environment.
