2 Michelin-starred and The World’s 50 Best Restaurants’s Nº 5 ranked Disfrutar’s Eduard Xatruch will participate in International Gastromasa Gastronomy Conference 2023!

The 8th Edition of the International Gastromasa Gastronomy Conference which continues to serve as a bridge between Turkey and world gastronomy and is in the first two places among world gastronomy events, will be held on November 4-5, 2023 at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul. The theme of the conference will be “Geography”. Gastromasa Hospitality, Gastromasa Coffee, Gastromasa Bar and Gastromasa Pastry concepts, which will take place within our Gastromasa Conference, will bring together world-renowned gastronomy professionals who shape the sector under the same roof. 60+ world-renowned chefs and pastry chefs, 30+ baristas, sommeliers and mixologists, 200+ professional speakers, the most important investors of the tourism and hospitality sector, famous chefs, gastronomy professionals, general managers, F&B managers, purchasing managers and many others will have the opportunity to take part at the 8th Edition of the International Gastromasa Gastronomy Conference.

About Eduard Xatruch

Born in Vila-seca (Tarragona) in 1981 to a family that worked the fields, he was attracted to cooking at a young age. When he was 17, after studying at the Escuela de Hostelería de Cambrils, he went to elBulli to do a three-month work experience stint. He never left. He did leave occasionally to learn and broaden his horizons in the kitchens of, among others, The Fat Duck, with Heston Blumenthal; Le Calandre, with Massimiliano Alajmo; and Arzak, guided by Juan Mari and Elena.

From 1999 onwards, he learned the ropes in the different sections of the restaurant in Cala Montjoi. In 2005, he became part of its creative team placing great focus on product-related research.

After elBulli closed, he continued working with Ferran Adrià on the conceptualisation of Bullipedia until, along with fellow Bullinian chefs Eduard Xatruch and Oriol Castro, he opened Compartir, a restaurant in Cadaqués. In 2014 he and others opened Disfrutar in Barcelona, the restaurant which consolidated the trio with their two Michelin stars and a Nº 5 ranking on the list of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
