The Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards have joined forces with the UK’s top chefs and restaurateurs to auction once-in-a-lifetime gastronomic experiences at the Top 100 Auction on 24 August to raise funds to support the hospitality industry.

The Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards, partnering with Hospitality Action, which works to support the hospitality industry, provide significant funding to businesses that are in danger of extinction as a result of the pandemic. Chefs and restaurants on the Top 100 list have prepared unique dining experiences for the Top 100 Auction on August 24th, which is aimed at supporting the industry. The auction will include once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as a meal, masterclass and stay at last year’s winner Moor Hall, a tour of Chinatown with celebrity chef Andrew Wong, a foraging experience before dinner at Tommy Banks’ restaurant The Black Swan, a unique dining experience at Heston Blumenthal’s Dinner Restaurant and a suite at the Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge.

Many iconic chefs, including Masterchef star Monica Galetti, Ikoyi’s chef Jeremy Chan and Margot Henderson of Rochelle Canteen, have offered to cook in people’s homes. The auction includes not only national but also international events such as the dining experience, including flights and accommodation at the famous Michelin-starred Spanish restaurant El Celler de Can Roca.

The Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards, which could not be held this year due to the pandemic, will hold a virtual congress on September 28 as part of parent company William Reed’s Hospitality Week event to support the industry. The congress will bring together some of the biggest names in UK restaurants to reflect on the crisis, discuss the challenges faced in reopening and talk about their own businesses and more generally passions beyond the pandemic.
