Michelin-starred Uncle Boons, New York’s Thai food destination, bids farewell to its guests after 7 years.

Chef Ann Redding and chef Matt Danzer, owners of Michelin-starred Uncle Boons, which has been closed since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, announced via mail that they will permanently close their restaurants after 7 years. “Boons was our first New York City restaurant, our dream that we saved up to build and bring to life, and which put us — and kept us — on the map for almost seven years in an ever-evolving and highly competitive culinary environment,” the couple wrote in a statement mail for the successful New York restaurant, which closed as a result of a dispute with the landlord. Following the many successes that Uncle Boons has captured, the couple will continue to offer some of their signature delicacies to guests at their other restaurant, Thai Dinner, with delivery service. At the time, the couple’s other restaurant, Uncle Boons Sister, will remain open for takeaway and delivery, The Eater reported.
