Chef Phillip Foss and Akiko Moorman’s restaurant EL Ideas was the talk of the town with the experimental approach they brought to Chicago fine-dining scene, followed by a Michelin star. The couple takes the innovative manner one step further with their new concept Boxcar BBQ.

EL Ideas was closed due to COVID-19 restrictions in the beginning of the year. After its opening in June, the restaurant closed its doors once again in line with the Illinois state measures in October. Now, with their Boxcar BBQ takeout menu, EL Ideas meets its fans once again.

With the success of Boxcar’s first week, Phillip Foss and Akiko Moorman have decided that the curbside concept will be a permanent addition to the menu even after the COVID-19 restrictions are over.
