Member of the renowned Roux culinary dynasty, famous chef and restaurateur Albert Roux died at the age of 85.

French born chef is best known with the impact he made in the United Kingdom gastronomy scene. He founded the two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Gavroche, with his late brother Michel Roux in 1967 in London. It is stated that Albert Roux was unwell due to his old age for some time now. The Roux family confirmed that the legendary chef and restauranteur Albert Roux passed on January 4th, 2021. “He was a mentor for so many people in the hospitality industry, and a real inspiration to budding chefs, including me” said his son, chef Michel Roux Jr.
