In New York, one of the most affected places by the coronavirus epidemic in the USA, Dante, selected as The World’s Best Bar 2019 sponsored by Perrier, focused its concept on creativity and adaptability to find new ways to get rid of the pandemic.

As the COVID-19 pandemic affected all businesses, Dante was chosen as the best bar in the world by World’s 50 Best Bars in 2019, among the restaurants and bars trying to serve their guests with new business models. Rethinking not only the bar’s menu but also the entire business model, Dante has been transformed into a pick-up and delivery centre, with the team doubling down to create a series of drink concepts that could work under the new conditions, starting from the second week of quarantine in New York.

The team initially converted their best-selling cocktails into single serves to go, expanding from an eight-list to a full 18-cocktail menu. Served in branded coffee cups with exclusive stickers and garnishes, the drinks feature favourites from Dante like Watermelon Slushie Margarita, Moscow Mule and the Garibaldi signature. A second idea was to create 2.25-litre, shelf-stable bottled cocktails, which were later made into ‘party packs’, including, for example, four different versions of the bar’s Negronis and Martinis. Along with coasters, matches, postcards, ice cube trays, and Dante playlists, they provided the chance to recreate the Dante experience at home.
