Lee Skeet, who managed the kitchen of the Michelin-starred restaurant Hedone from 2013-14, will open Cora on January 17 above Cafe Milkwood in the Welsh capital. The chef said the restaurant was named after his four-year-old daughter, Cora, and hopes to eventually earn Cardiff its first Michelin star.

According to Skeet’s website: “The goal is to create a relaxed and artsy restaurant, all tuned to hip hop music, in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that enjoys the finest produce in the capital.” “I don’t want to cook just to pay my bills, I want to cook to be the best cook I can be,” Skeet said. Throughout Skeet’s career, he has served as sous chef at Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s, party chef at Marcus Wareing Restaurants, and sous chef at Restaurant Tom Aikens in London.
