To celebrate October, Black History Month in the UK, Black Book is hosting a series of online events.

Black Book is a global representation platform for black and non-white people working within hospitality and food media. Founded by Zoe Adjonyoh of Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen, it works to change the systemic inequalities facing black and non-white professionals working in hospitality and food. For Black History Month, every Tuesday will see Black Book host a series of workshops, masterclasses, and cooking demonstrations focusing on the four pillars of the platform: equality, visibility, wealth creation and equity.

The series opened yesterday, October 6th, with the theme ‘Equality’ and sees drinks writer Aleesha Hansel led a workshop on working in the wine industry; a masterclass with Ronke Lawal, founder of Ariatu PR; a cook-a-long with Joe Faulkner of the Krio Kanteen on how to cook classic Salone dishes; and a discussion between food writers Melissa Thompson and Zoe Adjonyoh.
