The Austrian government said restaurants, bars and cafes could open on May 15 and hotels and entertainment areas could open from May 29 along with certain measures.

The Austrian government had made a confident start to the post-coronavirus process by opening small businesses in April and larger businesses in May. Restaurants, bars and cafes will reopen with the necessary health and safety measures, according to the government’s latest statement. According to the statement of Tourism Minister Elisabeth Koestinger, the hotels and entertainment areas, which have taken the necessary measures, will reopen from 29 May. “This is from my point of view a very big change and a very big step, in which we are betting on trust,” said Anschober, the Austrian Health Minister of Austria, according to the NY Times. Health measures that should be taken are; maximum 4 adults and their children can sit in a table, the 1-meter distance between the tables, customers must wear mask and gloves unless they are not sitting in a table, such as substances are included. In restaurants and bars, customers are advised to make reservations, while employees are required to wear masks and gloves.
