Rasmus Munk’s Alchemist crowned “Restaurant of the Year” for the second time as 2021 White Guide digital awards were announced with a ceremony held in Copenhagen.

4 months after its opening, Alchemist was named “Restaurant of the Year” for 2020. In February 2020, before its first anniversary, the restaurant received two stars in the Michelin Guide Nordic Countries 2020. For a second consecutive year, Alchemist won the title of “Restaurant of the Year” 2021 at the White Guide digital awards.

“We were almost in shock last year when we received this recognition after only 4 months of opening. It is a privilege to receive it for the second time, but the feeling is also a bit ambivalent in this very challenging year for the restaurant industry. 2020 has been a rollercoaster ride for us, receiving 2 Michelin starts in February, and the pandemic shortly after hitting the restaurant industry like a tidal wave. I am above all grateful to my fantastic team for all their hard work and efforts”, said 29-year-old Alchemist head chef Rasmus Munk.

Alchemist received 99 points out of a possible 100 with its conceptual menu inspired by artists such as Andy Warhol and George Orwell. Rasmus Kofoed’s Geranium follows close behind.
