Avatara, Dubai’s only fine dining vegetarian and vegan degustation restaurant, is relocating from its current home in voco Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road to a new venue in Dubai Hills. The tasting menu-only experience is set to have a new, larger, stand-alone space, and will be opening in Business Park 1 in Dubai Hills in early June.

The team told G&M that the restaurant will host 30 diners at each seating, and is being designed “keeping Avatara’s concept, cuisine and chef Rahul Rana’s vision in mind”.

The restaurant is set to become “more spacious, greener and brighter”, in line with Avatara’s vegetarian and vegan food offerings.

Meanwhile, the “menu and interiors will work in sync to provide an even more elevated dining experience, invoking more senses than ever”.

Avatara, which comes from the team behind Trèsind and Trèsind Studio, is known for its innovative take on plant-based cuisine and sattvic menu.

The 16-course tasting menu is served at two seatings daily, starring dishes including root chips with tempered chana mash and pomegranate chutney; lauki bharta with papadum waffle and pickled pumpkin; achari broccolini with tomato relish and crispy kale, jackfruit momo with sea buckthorn thukpa and black rice crisp and turnip steak with berry pulao and chilli curry.

There’s both a vegetarian and vegan menu, with two different wine pairings.

The tasting menu costs Dhs450 for 16-courses, with wine pairings either Dhs495 or Dhs1,000.
