The World’s 50 Best Restaurants named Tala Bashmi the Best Female Chef of 2022 in the Middle East and Africa edition. Tala Bashmi, often referred to as the voice of modern Bahraini cuisine, draws attention with her culinary career in Europe and the Middle East and her modern interpretation of traditional dishes.

Tala Bashmi, the owner of this year’s award, which is given to support female employment and chefs in the world of gastronomy, will receive her award at the ceremony to be held in Abu Dhabi on February 2022. Born in Bahrain, Bashmi started her career at Baked by T after her education in Switzerland. Having worked at the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois and the Michelin-starred Prisma, Tala Bashmi returned to the Middle East and opened Fusions by Tala in 2017. Blending world-class materials and techniques with local Bahraini dishes, Brashmi is appreciated for her creativity.
