Announced this week, Michelin guide Great Britain and Ireland’s 2021 selection was arguably the most special as two restaurants helmed by women were the newest additions to the list of three-Michelin-starred restaurants of the guide. World-renowned chefs Hélène Darroze and Clare Smyth have shared the joy of being named the first women to receive this prestigious distinction with their own restaurants on their official Instagram accounts.

Clare Smyth, the first British woman chef to have a three-Michelin-starred restaurant of her own thanked her team with the words “We couldn’t have done it without our amazing farmers, suppliers, our guests and everyone who has been on the journey”. French chef Hélène Darroze of Hélène Darroze at the Connaught wrote “I cannot find the words to describe my emotions and happiness. I cannot find the words to say how proud I am of my team. Guys, we did it”.
