Being one of the busiest cities in the world, New York City gastronomy scene was hit as hard as any other during the pandemic. According to the report of New York State Labor Department, during the month of December, 11,400 jobs in the hospitality sector was lost, which means a 5.8% drop in hospitality employment in just a month. While the dining restrictions are slowly being lifted throughout the country, it is still unknown when the NYC restaurants will be able to host customers again.
