Born in Turin in 1968, Alfredo Russo is one of the leading names in Italian cuisine. Russo, who discovered his passion for cooking at the age of 13, pursued a professional career by studying at a hotel management school. After completing his education, he honed his skills by working at some of Italy’s top Michelin-starred restaurants.
In 1990, he opened his own restaurant, Dolce Stil Novo, in the town of Cirié near Turin, alongside his wife Stefania, marking the beginning of his independent career. Just three years after opening, he achieved a significant milestone by earning a Michelin star. In 2004, he was honored with the title of “Best Young Chef” by the Espresso Guide.
Alfredo Russo’s cuisine is innovative and experimental, inspired by the traditions of the Piedmont region. He has created his own style by combining classic Italian flavors with modern techniques. Today, he is still at the helm of his restaurant in the Royal Palace of Venaria, one of Italy’s most impressive buildings.
He plays an active role on the global gastronomy scene not only through his own restaurant but also by consulting for international hotel chains and luxury cruise ships. He has represented Italian cuisine at numerous prestigious events, including the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, the UNESCO Paris event, and promotional events at the United Nations.
